Drunken butchers stab the pig with a sharp knife. Pig is killed in the market place publicly. As it is festival time, killing is witnessed by a crowd. Every 15 Aug, there is a pig market in connection with St Mary's Forane church, Pallipuram, Allapuzha Dt., Kerala. Butchers kill more than 30 big white pigs for meat.
