Kanichukulangara Devi temple festival on Shivratri night (23 Feb 09) attracts ten thousands of pilgrims. The temple is located 7 km from Cherthala in Alappuzha, Kerala. After Arattu, one hour fireworks display followed by 'thiripidutham'. Thousands of devotees fire the torches with oil and run around the temple chanting 'Devi Saranam'.
